Exploring Let's Run Park: A Photographer's Perspective

Hello everyone, I hope everybody is doing well. Welcome to my channel, that's Antoine, I'm a photographer in Seoul, and today we are going to spend some time at Let's Run Park—a place where people bet on horse races, known as an "hippodrome" in French.

Behind-the-Scenes at Let's Run Park:

Today, I'm joined by Nicolas as we explore this unique location under a cloudy sky, ideal for capturing scenes in black and white. Already, I've captured a few intriguing shots that promise a unique visual narrative.

Photography Gear and Settings:

For today's shoot, I'm using the Nikon Z6 with the 14-30mm f4 lens, optimizing between f8 and f13 to ensure picture quality. My settings—1/250 of a second at ISO 400—ensure sufficient speed and light despite stable lighting conditions. I also took with me the famous 85mm f1.8 that I will use at the end of the session.

Capturing Authentic Moments:

The key to discreet photography here lies in using the tilt screen and silent mode, ensuring I blend into the environment effortlessly. This approach allows me to capture candid moments without disrupting the lively atmosphere.

Tips for Photographing at Let's Run Park:

Timing is crucial; waiting for the races to begin provides a focused opportunity amidst the excitement. Despite initial hesitations, capturing intriguing subjects like a Yakuza member during the race added depth to my collection. Something I used to do is going down taking typical pictures of landscape like everybody are used to do but hen I’m down, tilting the screen and using a silent shutter speed to take discret pictures while going up in front of people focus on the race.

Exploring Different Perspectives:

Venturing outside the track, I explored wider landscapes and moments where unique hats provided unexpected photographic opportunities. Such breaks allowed me to diversify my portfolio beyond the track's immediate action.

Adapting to Changing Conditions:

As weather conditions shifted from cloudy to rainy, I reflected on the potential of future visits under different lighting challenges, envisioning new photographic possibilities.

Conclusion:

Exploring Let's Run Park was a rewarding experience, showcasing the dynamic blend of sports and culture. I look forward to returning with new insights and techniques to share in future videos. Until then, this is Antoine—Ciao!
